Out of Focus 2008, 1D MkIII edition

Well, I’m doing the 1D a disservice. I’m sure in testing it would have proved successful. However, after a number of issues with errors when changing lenses it’s going back to Jacobs. Also some of the body trim/case has started to peel off, this to be honest is a disgrace on a 2 grand camera body (especially as it’s 3 days old and only had 300 odd images put through it).

One other thing I noticed was the inability to focus lock on a subject using Servo mode in low light. I accept that low contrast is always a problem with low light photography, but my 5D seemed to handle that focusing better than the 1D.

Pissed off about the whole thing really, I could get a replacement. But I think a refund and walkaway is the better option. Despite me getting a really good deal (£2150, now £2589 on Jacobs website), I feel it’s time to move on.

Leaving on a London Midland train, don't think this box will come back with me again

Looking back, I’m wondering if the 1D was ever any use to me.

Bollocks
