Whilst on the usual Saturday shopping trip with Rachel I decided to take trip to Jessops to test the 300mm lens. Also the added bonus was she was asleep so it made the whole thing possible.
Right here goes:
Jessops supplied 5D (with very dirty viewfinder! – thought mine was shite) and 300mm f/4 IS USM lens.

So overall, i’m very impressed with this lens. Image Stabilisation seems to work really well. Some images look quite usable at 1/80. Still going to wait until Focus 2007 to check out the prices there. Jessops are reluctant to match prices at the moment, but the Manager of the store said he’d have a word with head office. Failing that Calumet are quite close in price so they might win.
