Canon Eos 5D firmware update 1.1.1

This firmware update (Version 1.1.1) incorporates the following fixes and improvements:

  1. It now supports high-capacity CF cards.
  2. It allows the latest lens names to be recorded in the Exif information of images taken.
  3. It adds lenses that are compatible with the Digital Photo Professional 3.2 lens aberration correction function.

Version 1.1.1 firmware update is for use with cameras with firmware up to Version 1.1.0. If you already have Version 1.1.1, it is not necessary to update the firmware.

Handy update if you must have 8gb+ cards. The lens data is a nice addition, but as I’ve not got any of the new lenses it’s fairly irrelevant. Lens aberration correction looks to be a useful addition. Though I don’t tend to use DPP at all, that said worth a try to correct something shite.

Early Start

03:30. Start of the Grand Prix season.

Looks a good start so far, ITV ads as usual are very annoying (mind you they seem to be quite short this year, maybe it’s the time of the day).

Had me tea, toast and chocolate

Clean me now!

Dust and sensors.  Something you have to put up with (even cameras with fancy self cleaning!).  However the 5D as known to be a bit of a camera dust vacuum. I’ve coped quite well with the rocket blower, however it now looks like I need to wet clean.

The white circles are where I’ve cloned out the dirt on LightRoom (1.4 now available, seems to have slowed down my Mini though).
