Old Images part 2

So, got into a groove now with this scanner.

St Ives at Night, probably my all time favourite image Probably my all time favourite image.  Taken with the Lubitel, also took the same image on print film.  It did come out rather poorly (possibly due to the print process.  I’ll have to dig it out for the scanner).

Revisiting old images

One of the things on the ‘to do’ list is done. I’ve been wondering about my film scanner for a while. I didn’t want to use it with the old PC as my intention is to sell that. In the end I decided to use a spare small form factor PC (Compaq EVO P4 2.4ghz) with I’ve had lying around for a while.

The unit itself will be just a scanner unit. All the processing will still be completed on the Mac.

So here goes for the first two images on the ‘new’ production line.

Anchor Close, Edinburgh
Cornish Surfers

Quite happy with the newer cleaner images. I’ll need to consider the quality if I submit them to Alamy.

The Anchor Close image may suffer as the original lens was a little soft on the Lubitel Medium Format. Still it took a nice image 🙂

Fitness update

Yes, my body has finally started to fight against the fitness regime.  For the last week I’ve suffered from a cold.  Started with dizziness and fatigue on Mon to Fri.  Now the weekend is upon us the runny nose and congestion has started.  I can cope with the congestion and runny nose, so hopefully I’ll be back at work on Monday.  For me, loss of smell and snot are much easier to cope with than the dizzy head.

Hope it’s sorted soon as I’ve had to miss the gym for the last week.

First Snow

first snow, winter 2007 Nothing too exciting, but the first bit of snow for this winter.  Nice to see after a bottle of red.

Apologies for the outage

The recent outage was sponsored by pipex/123-reg.  For some reason their DNS crawled up it’s own arse and died over the last few days.  Seems to have gone back to normal now.   However their website didn’t have anything listed.  A note on the support page would have been nice.
