Musical me

After many a year of attempting the guitar I thought I’d try again. This time I’m helped by Garageband – part of the Apple iLife package. The current version has a different lessons to help you learn both the piano and guitar.

Only really done the first guitar lesson so far, but don’t want to rush as I need my fingers to get used to steel strings again. As before it sounds bad, but I’d like to think I could stick with it this time.

Had a quick look at the piano lessons as well. I’m sort of tempted to have a go with that as well. A USB piano keyboard is available for around £50 (or £80 from Apple!).

So do pardon me if I start talking about my AXE (maybe i’ll borrow Neils, cos it’s better than mine! – I’ve gone down the electric route at present as I can play it through headphones)

Obligatory snow post

O.k. for those who’ve been on a different continent…..

It’s been cold, so cold in fact water turned to falling ice and it ended up as snow.

So I got cold, got an eye injury from a chav twat throwing an ice ball (Eye is o.k., well thats what the eye hospital said) and took a few poor quality snow shots.

Bag broke

After around 3 years of almost constant use my Nova 4 bag has (well the strap) has finally retired. I could just get another strap, but really it’s been failing in other areas too. One zip broke, holes in the top flap.

It’s looking a sorry state. I’d get a new Nova 4, but it’s too much like a big man bag now, so what next?

I’ve found the Stealth Reporter D100 very cheap, so may get that. I need to investigate the front pockets though (important for me!)

Birmingham Twestival aka @brumtwestival

So what’s it about then, well……

……..On 12th February 2009 Birmingham will be joining over 100 confirmed cities around the world in a night of fund raising, partying, competitions and all round fun.

There’s been a lot talk about Brumtwestival around the blogosphere, so rather than simply repeat what’s already been said in great detail we’ll start off with a summary of where we’re at.

The Twittersphere here in Birmingham is a very close-knit bunch so of course everyone is actively encouraged to @ their ideas and thoughts to us. To see what’s been going on there’s also an aggregator with all mentions of brumtwestival on Twitter. To get your message to appear simply include brumtwestival in one of your tweets and it’ll get picked up and added to the page.

Prizes and stuff available, but probably the best thing is meeting many Birmingham Twitterers.

So get a ticket (not checked if any are left, still you can do that – it’s late and I should be in bed), tis only 5 of your English pounds.   Oh it’s for charity as well (Charity:Water).
