Leaving Planet 3

So, the time has come to ditch my network: 3 Mobile. Why, mainly cos they don’t sell the iPhone.

However I still have 5 months left on my contract. So did I pay up the 5 Months termination? Well no, 3 Mobile changed some terms and conditions. Basically they had a service called 3 like home. This allowed you to call from certain countries where 3 had their own network. This service is going, so in 3 own statement they said…….

Finally because of the 3 Like Home change, it’s only fair that we point out your right to end your contract with us,
without paying an early cancellation fee. However, we very much hope it won’t come to that because we still believe
we offer great value rates and great coverage.

….great, so I called them and cancelled. They do put up a struggle to keep you, but I’ve got my PAC code (to port my number) and 30 days to move. Hopefully they won’t send me a crap bill, we’ll see.

Thanks to the forum over at www.3g.co.uk

Good timing Apple (almost)

So, new iPhone is announced today. And yes I want it. However I still have 5 months left on 3 Mobile and today I broke my Nokia. So do I wait 2 weeks and join the queue for an iPhone? or just get a cheap PAYG from 3.

Personally I can see the iPhone selling out (as usual) for the first month or so. Anyway, the phone can make and receive calls, so long as I can remember the number. Also the earpiece has buggered, so I have to use the speaker phone (or in ear headphone). Look out for a Sledgehammer Vs Nokia 6500 slide post soon.

Rumbled – though you’d be quick to spot it

Regular readers (both of you) will know I recently attended a film premier. It was a bit of a rush, but I can confirm I was spotted by Panorama.

At least I’m not the only one chimping in the second shot 😉

The Panorama documentary was about the struck off Professor David Southall, and after watching the documentary it seems wrongly struck off on the evidence presented.

Lesson 2

Jo seems to think I’ve done o.k. with the 2 pieces learnt so far, time to move on to more tunes and a new(ish) chord position.  Well sort of new, it’s that G7 again, but this time on my right hand.  Now this does feel weird.  Fingers 4&5 aren’t programmed in my mind to work that way.

Mind you, got used to it fairly quickly on the left hand.  Talking of the left hand, these pieces require melody to be played on the left also, which isn’t as bad as I thought.

Will try and post a Mp3 of the efforts so far, however connecting the MacBook is a chore at present – so maybe not just yet.
