April Redux

Time for another delve into the Archive of my last decade of Lightroom images.    What spurred me on this time was a new Instagram hub (https://www.instagram.com/brutifulbirmingham/)  which concentrates on Brutal images from the past and present (not that there’s much left!).

I know I’ve published a number of Central Library images – but I knew that there are many I’ve discounted previously – so time for a revisit.

Brutal Desks

All images were taken on the same night during a 4am Project visit to the library complex.   Images shot on  combination that I never really liked, my Canon Eos 5D MkII and 17-40 f/4 L lens.

The last image is a pano of 3 images rather than a fisheye.

This Weeks Selection (12/03/18)

So just to prove it wasn’t a one off here it is again.   Possibly might be better calling it Redux this week.   Why? well I’ve gone into my library to pick out a couple from the Central Library (Madin Edition):  One from the day before it closed and the other is from the 4am Project meet up (although it doesn’t feature the library)

First up, under the brutal beast….

Under the brutalist beast

It was a bit of plan shot, but the Raw image contained the missing detail from the Jpg thumb nail in the Lightroom Library.

Tweaked as most of current images are in Nik Efex (Viveza, Colour Efex – possibly a bit of HDR Mono tone mapping, really can’t remember!)

So under the belly of the brutalist beast, shot on the day it was closing using my Eos 6D and 15mm Fisheye.

Next up…

Addressing the people

Its Karen Strunks addressing the gathered crowd (who are behind me) after a rather wonderful 4am Project looking at the Central Library.  Image taken on my Eos 5D Mk II (A camera I never really liked to be honest) and my 15mm Fisheye.   Tweaked a bit in Nik Efex and cropped to the letterbox format.

Have either of the image got legs for a competition?  Not sure but it is worth going back and revisiting some older images occasionally – even if it’s just to confirm they were as bad as you originally thought!
