We are Premier League (again)

Yep, after a fairly inconsistent season we’ve finally got promoted.   A few games back we rode our luck and scraped the odd result.

Short post I know, but it matters to me!

Footy

Played my first game in nearly 6 years. Started well, didn’t loose the ball too much. Back was a concern for me. But it held out. The ankle however didn’t

AnkleTwisted it (left one) which as very painful. 4 hours later it still is.

Kept going though, even scored to make to 7-1 (to us) at half time.

Canon EF300mm f/4 L IS USM

Told you I’ve got a thing about primes, 3rd one of the year. Anyway, after a long wait I finally plunged the bank account and bought it. Again the source was the ever reliable Kerso. A veritable bargain at £700 delivered.Canon EF300 f/4 IS USM

The lens comes in the usual Red, White and Black box. As it’s an ‘L’ Lens of course it comes with a case (though a canvas zip up case) and a hood. The hood on this lens is built into the body and can be used with screw in filters (77mm).

The lens is pictured in front of the EF70-200 f/4 L as a reference to the size difference (Hood down). It’s quite a weighty lens, though Canon have recognised this with the inclusion of the tripod mount (an optional extra with the EF70-200 series, though in fairness to Canon not really needed).

Lies, promises, failure?

You hear many things in life, many truthful, many utter bullshit.

Take Saturday for example, caught a taxi home. Then arranged with the driver to book another taxi for an hour later. This was a black cab, so no dodgy private hire here.

So 19:15 turns up, but the cab doesn’t. My wife calls TOA. No booking has been made.

Lie? Promise? Failure? dunno, probably all three. Private hire turned up within about 20 minutes.

Avid readers may recall my job indecision posts. In the end decided to join the company where I’ve been for the last 2 years or so. Took a week off to sort out my affairs (Accountants, P45, etc). Was waiting for the contract of employment to turn up. Well it didn’t and still hasn’t. So day 6 of working for free. It’s rumoured to be coming soon, but I have yet to see it.

Lie? – no Promise & Failure? – yes
