A month or so back my brother asked if I’d like to go to Duxford for the Airshow. The answer was immediate, yes (as I like aircraft). So imagine my disappointment when after getting the ticket I found out it was ‘Flying Legends’ ie old stuff.
Now I like shiny new jet planes, so faced with a day of old planes I thought I might get bored.
An early start was required, though I thought 06:30 was too early. In the end it proved to be the best time to go. Roads were fairly quiet so we got there about 08:30. The thing to remember about an airshow is to get the right pitch. We found a gap and quickly got the chairs.
There is a fair amount to do at Duxford. The US aircraft display hall, Land battle Hall, Static Aircraft and Something called ‘Air Space’. Though the latter was closed. Pity as they have a Concorde in there.
Also prior to the show you can get closer to the display aircraft for an additional £4 (Which is a fair amount). So to kill an hour or so, I went and took a few shots Airside.
