WordPress fixed?

So after struggling to find a solution I **may** have found one that works. Though I’ve found searching for the ‘Error establishing a database connection’ message brought up a lot of new installation advice. My problem has been it was occasionally losing the connection.

The wp-config.php file has a line to define the Db_Host location. This was the local host name. I’ve found that putting the localhost IP address seems to bring the blog back up. Without requiring a reboot (which is nice).

So I will be monitoring. This blog and Photoblography.net seem to have been fixed with the same procedure. My test blog is till not communicating with the MySql service (but I’ll leave that as a guide).

John Swannell – a new link

Something I’ve been meaning to do for a while.  Actually post a link to John Swannell’s website.  I’ve been a fan of Swannell since the early nineties.   He was featured in Practical Photography magazine (before it went a bit shit).   To be fair, I hadn’t heard of him until I read the feature.  I’d certainly seen a number of his images in the past.  I’d be interested in buying a print from his site, however it may be firefox but the prints page seems not to offer any ‘add to cart links’.  I’ll test again from elsewhere.

Click the link under the camera related section.  Oh enjoy!

A new era…..

Yes, I’ve finally done. I’ve bought a .net domain name. Mainly because the .com had already gone.

Anyway, the name of this fine beast is……..

www.photoblography.net

The intention of the site is to create photoblog of my projects. Also links and maybe contributions from other photographers that I know.

Maybe some affiliate links, just like this site.

One intention is to use wordpress for the text and photos from flickr or my own web repository.

Walk by Shooting pt II

As an extension to the project (though not actually published on it) I decided to do a little more of Lancaster circus. Nothing too exciting.
