Fear not, protectors of licenced software everywhere. I’m now no longer a filthy pirate. Today my boxed copy of Lightroom 2 (Upgrade) arrived. New serials updated and registered with Adobe.
I should really go and see a priest to ask for forgiveness.
(Adobe are still cunts though)
Despite them(aircraft) being polluting dirt sods I love em, so the weekend walk with wife, friend and children was great for a few reasons.
Obviously I took all my camera equipment, including my fisheye as I wanted to get a few shots for stock………
Played little with fill-light, but nice I think. To be honest didn’t really get too many shots as I was busy with Rachel et al.

Flash, wonderful for somethings (BBC iPlayer, YouTube etc) but for photo galleries I think it’s a big no no. However I’ve discovered that Abode Lightroom has some single flash galleries built in (not too sure if this is just version 1.3, did really look at it before).

October 26th 2007: Launch Day.
Since owning a Mac I’ve changed. 2 years ago the thought of paying let alone queuing for an operating system would have been strange. But times change. I’m now an Apple fanboy, so naturally when Apple release the next iteration of their OS I’m queuing.
I initially planned on queuing at 17:00. However I got there around 16:30, so started to queue up then. The closer to the front, the sadder I guess. So I was happy to be number 6 :p (not at all sad then!).
As usual with Great Britain, people see a queue as want to know what is happening. Now shoppers are a funny bunch. They ask why we are queuing, we tell them something along the lines of ‘It’s for Apple’s new operatiing system’. This normally suffices the curiosity of most. However one person, saw the X displayed in the Apple store and asked if we were queuing for X-Factor (no I shit thee not, someone really did). So with this free entertainment the hour and a half soon passed.
Whilst enjoying the lovely weather we are currently experiencing I thought I’d take a look at monitoring/tracking the weather. Probably just to confirm, yes it’s really shit. So the search wasn’t too hard. In fact I recalled some software which my old school mate has a part in creating. At the time when I first stumbled across this app I couldn’t use it as I was on a PC. Now I’m certified as a MacFanboy I can download and play.
The application? Home Weather Center (I’ll forgive the US spelling!). Initial download gives you 14 days to try. After that I’m sure it’ll stop working. Seems to be a bargain at $35 though. With the current weak dollar that should work out to about 12 pence (or £17 for those who’ve had a sense of humour by-pass).
Not much to say about the app at the moment. Need to play around with it for a while. They seem to be looking to integrate it with some of the publically available home weather hardware kits. Seem most of the hardware suppliers are neglecting Macs as usual. Still early days, maybe they might get closer ties with some of the hardware vendors.
