A new era…..

Yes, I’ve finally done. I’ve bought a .net domain name. Mainly because the .com had already gone.

Anyway, the name of this fine beast is……..

www.photoblography.net

The intention of the site is to create photoblog of my projects. Also links and maybe contributions from other photographers that I know.

Maybe some affiliate links, just like this site.

One intention is to use wordpress for the text and photos from flickr or my own web repository.

Birmingham

Birmingham has been my home for the last 14 years (previously lived in Solihull before). Now in that time I’ve constantly heard how rubbish it is. Now, maybe it’s age but I’ve started to document more of the city. I like the place, it has everything I want and need (though some independent camera shops might be good).

So expect more Brum in the future.

2008, a late post about the new year…..

….sort of.

Well it’s been over a week since the last post.  So finally think the cold has gone.  Still a bit phlegmy, but getting there.  Should start Yoga again tomorrow, regretting now not doing any of the exercise that Jayne gave us to do.  Still I can blame it on the illness.

One hangover from the cold however is food, for some reason I cannot eat at normal times.  I’ve been skipping breakfast and eating later.  Once I’ve eaten I feel a bit sick (none of that novavirus shitting stuff though), so I tend to not eat much in the evening.  I should feel starving now at nearly midnight, but I’m not too bad.  Maybe it’ll help me to lose weight!

2007 draws to a close, so what have I done.

Quite a varied year really. Started off the new year as a contractor, finished it as an employee. Hopefully 2008 will be a reverse of this.

In terms of photography, I got accepted on to Alamy, still not had any sales yet but I’m looking long term for this. Plus my stock images are still fairly low in numbers (Currently about 460 images). I would like double this as a minimum for the next year. The last few months have been fairly quite photography wise, still got a couple of photo shoots planned for early in the new year.

Best thing about this year is watching Rachel grow up, she is getting cuter by the day.

So the upcoming new year what will I hope for. Fitness (again) and hopefully less colds. I need to stop eating all the shite I do.

2008 will start with a cold as I’ve currently got bloke flu. Sitting here typing away in my wooly hat, hoodie and sleeping bag. I may venture to try a medicinal vodka later. Hopefully will be better for the traditional New Years day walk in Sutton Park.

Also from a tech point of view I need to sort out MySQL and WordPress, one of them falls out with the other.  I’ve applied a few updates/mods which have improved things a bit.  A dedicated server might help, either this Mac Mini or something smaller (8watt solid state PC I’ve been looking at).

Have a good one, Steve

Shite Customer Service

You know how it is, you fancy a quick sandwich on the way home. So as Subway is near the station I thought a simple pop in and get grub might be in order. But no, on the door there is some bloke with a Subway T-Shirt attempting to sign me for a money off deal.

I mean this is fucking Subway. So for £10 I could have a voucher that entitles me to 3x free subs and plenty of buy one get one free deals. Now I explain I’ve only got £4, but then he can do this for a fiver. So a good deal, but to be honest it wasn’t a good deal as I walked away. In that brief few moments of bullshit he’s lost a customer. Probably for a while to come as well.

So well done (probably the area manager) Subway.

Anyway, partially inspired by my friend Chris (who I will meet for a drink sometime) a picture from today (edit yesterday now!)
