Money for nothing – updated

So after an epic wait I eventually managed to speak to Birmingham City Council and their accounts dept.

Seems a fairly simple mistake, rather than pay a company called BCG Direct Ltd, they decided to pay me BCG Media Limited.   So if this happens to you remember to pay the council back or they’ll invoice you for the amount they paid you.

So BCC I’ll pay you back the £2,695.04 you sent me.  Now where’s me cheque book?  Obviously don’t want to delay payment.  Afterall BCC have a projected overspend of £19 Million this year.

Money for Nothing part 2

You may remember my previous post about money for nothing.  Well another month passes and I get another bank statement.  This time I’ve been paid again (but a bit more).  Obviously can’t discuss who is sending me the cash, but thank you anyway.

/edit:  After speaking with my accountant it’s the general view I should really speak to the issuer of free cash,  I attempted to call Accounts Payable today.  But after an hour of being continuously cut off I gave up.  Will try monday.  Though probably won’t try too hard.

It’s here……

Yep, seems swine flu has hit Yardley.  More specifically my house.

So Rachel is the unlucky one, she’s not been good for a few days.  But today her temperature rocketed.  So a few calls eventually sorted a trip to the local Tamiflu dispensery.  Also we’ve got to keep Callum away from her as he’s in the high risk category (as he’s under 5).  Quite how that will be possible I don’t know.  Think Callum might be coming to work with me for a few days.

Loft: at last another update

A picture says as thousand words, well it doesn’t in this case it’s just a photographic reproduction of an event which took place in history.

Don’t know what stage I was up to, but I’ve finished the pre-plastering stage.

Banister bit was annoying, it wobbled too much. Hence the end bit was added. Still it wobbled until the plasterboard was screwed on.

I must do an audit of costs so far, not mentioned the current casualty – My cordless drill: it rotates no more. Seems to have seized up. Still got my 2nd power drill of the project to use instead (note 2nd drill, first one died aswell).
