However the palm rest area of the keyboard had developed a crack.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blogcdn.com\/www.engadget.com\/media\/2007\/05\/macbook-crack.jpg\" title=\"Crackbook\" class=\"alignnone\" width=\"440\" height=\"330\" \/><\/p>\n<p>(not my Macbook, the spilt is in the same place &#8211; but not broken off yet).<\/p>\n<p>So I have no Mac Laptop now, It&#8217;s given me a chance to play with Linux on my &#8216;work&#8217; Toshiba laptop.  It runs o.k., but it&#8217;s no OS X.  Plus it&#8217;s a big chunky thing as well.   Keyboard feels horrible, that said it is a Toshiba so it will probably never break.  Also despite it being of a cheapo plastic construction it&#8217;ll probably never have bits flaking off.<\/p>\n<p>Wonder if I can Hackintosh it?<\/p>\n<p>\/edit Took it to the Apple Store in Solihull, and they are fixing it for tomorrow \ud83d\ude42 FOC \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>(I did take it back to John Lewis previously as that&#8217;s where it came from)<\/p>\n<p>\/edit, obviously tomorrow meant Tuesday as they didn&#8217;t have the parts \ud83d\ude41 We&#8217;ll see \ud83d\ude10 <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tis nothing too serious, the Macbook is working fine.
